 Sophia Masterson

crossover artist
lover of new works
professional extrovert

Praised for her "Soaring Soprano Voice", Sophia is a crossover artist between musical theatre and opera.  She is originally from sunny Sarasota, Florida and is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, where she received her BFA in Voice & Drama.

Growing up as a major Elvis Presley fan, Sophia has been singing for as long as she can remember. She turned her love of "The King"  into a career built on versatility and curiosity. Sophia is drawn to works that blur the line between classical and contemporary voice. She thrives in collaborative rooms where writers, composers, and performers are building something from the ground up. For Sophia, performing is at its best when it's a shared act of creation.

Phantom

Arizona Broadway Theatre I Directed by Kiel Klaphake

"...Sophia Masterson, who plays Christine, is both tender and touching. Masterson is radiant as Christine, bringing warmth, innocence, and strength to the role. Her soaring soprano voice is showcased beautifully in songs like 'Home' and 'My True Love.'"

"...Sophia Masterson and Caleb Aguilar astounded the audience on opening night in their portrayals of Violetta and Alfredo in “La Traviata.” Move over Opera Naples and Gulfshore Opera. These two are legitimate talents."
